First priority in the sight of God
Time is the true measure of life, how you spend your time determine the quality of your life. Most of people spend their time to get what they gave first priority, always priority determine your destination. The study of a scientist and psychologist Abraham Maslow shows the motivations of human behavior, all human behavior is driven by same basic “hierarchy of needs” :
• Water, Food
• Clothes, Housing
• Protection, security etc..
This make every human being to wake up with the plan to get those priorities, some of them join church, become politician, seek jobs, reason of war. Some of them use good way other choose bad one but all have the same motivation.
Most of Christians joined the church for that needs, that’s why the most of their prophecies and promises are for getting that needs. God will give a house, a job, wife/husband, you will be rich. Even the religions of today are driven by those needs.
But God doesn’t want us to set that basic needs as our first priority. Let’s see what Jesus said about our priority
Matthew 6:31-33
[31]So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
[32]For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
[33]But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
The first priority in the sight of God is to seek kingdom of God and his righteousness. I know most of us have the promises of what to eat, drink and wear, they have fear of tomorrow that’s why the use all energy to get those needs.
The answer of our needs is the kingdom of God and his righteousness when we receive them they attract all other needs because there is no lack in a kingdom of God with his righteousness you have all your needs. So don’t waste your life by run to something that can’t save you, don’t be like pagans who always run for those needs.
Seek first kingdom of God and his righteousness
The first priority is not how you will live tomorrow but is the kingdom of God and his righteousness so if you spend your time seeking this kingdom and this righteousness you are safe in today’s world
- Did you receive this kingdom?
- Did you receive this righteousness?
What are you hunger for? Is what to eat, to drink or to wear?
Why do you pray?
Why do you attend the church service?
